SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Robert Hamchuk went deep in the top of the sixth inning, but San José State (8-19, 4-8 MW) fell 9-3 in the final game of the two-game series against UC Santa Barbara (15-8, 4-2 Big West) on Friday afternoon.

  • Hamchuk went 3-for-4 in the game with a pair of singles to go along with the home run.
  • The home run was Hamchuk's fourth of the season.
  • Micky Thompson got the start on the mound and struck out four in five and one-third innings pitched.
  • Thompson kept the Gauchos hitless through the first three innings of the game.
  • Zach Griffin and Sebastian Orduno had the other Spartan extra-base hits with doubles in the third inning and eighth innings, respectively.
