SAN JOSE, Calif. - Cheuk Ying Shek won in straight sets to lead the San José State women's tennis team (6-1, 0-0 Mountain West) in a 4-2 win over UC Davis (4-9, 1-2 Big West) on Monday afternoon.
- The Spartans won four points in singles play, all in straight sets.
- Ying Shek earned a 6-0, 6-2 win.
- Jovana Babic wrapped up her match shortly after with a 7-5, 6-2 victory on court five.
- Duru Durgun quickly dismantled her opponent on court six, 6-2, 6-3.
- Rozalina Youseva earned the clinching point for the Spartans with a 7-6, 6-0 takedown on court four.
- The match took two days to complete because of the weather. The two teams suspended play on Sunday, March 3 while tied at 1-1.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will be back in action on Tuesday, March 5 in San Francisco against the USF Dons. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Olympic Club.
