Spartans Win 4-0 Over San Francisco to Improve to 7-1

SAN FRANCISCO - Irena Muradyan won her matchup on court two in straight sets to lead the San José State women's tennis team (7-1, 0-0 Mountain West) to a 4-0 win over the University of San Francisco Dons (2-6, 0-0 West Coast Conference) on Tuesday afternoon. 

  • The Spartans won the doubles point and proceeded to grab three points from singles play.
  • In doubles, Jovana Babic and Carolina Millan won 6-3 on court two and Rozalina Youseva and Duru Durgun were victorious on court three, 6-1.
  • Muradyan worked quickly in her matchup, winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. 
  • Durgun took down her opponent in straight sets on court six, 6-1, 6-2. 
  • Cheuk Ying Shek clinched the team victory with a win on court three, 6-3, 6-1. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans return home to rest and get ready to face cross-town opponent Santa Clara on Friday, March 8. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Spartan Tennis Complex.
