Slusser, Bryant Named to MW Global Challenge Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—San José State volleyball players Brooke Slusser and Brooke Bryant are part of the 12-player roster for the Mountain West team that will be playing at the 19th annual Global Challenge, July 16-19, in Maribor, Slovenia.

The team will be coached by Ted Kopacz, Colorado State assistant coach, and Chloe Hirst, Utah State associate head coach.

Slusser, a senior setter for the 2024 season, was an honorable mention All-MW honoree after averaging 6.63 assists, 2.29 digs and 1.08 kills in MW play. She had five double-doubles in conference play and recorded her first career triple-double with 10 kills, 19 assists and 16 digs in a home match with Colorado State.

Bryant, a senior right side for the 2024 season, averaged 2.09 kills and 0.65 blocks per set in 2023. She recorded a career-best 16 kills in a home match with Nevada.

2024 Global Challenge Schedule

July 12-14 – Arrive in Maribor, Slovenia for training and friendly matches with visiting club and national teams.

July 15 – Travel to Pula, Croatia, for opening ceremonies

July 16-19 – Competition Days: Global Challenge 2024 

July 20 – In Venice, Italy

July 21 – Return to the USA

 

About the Global Challenge

Year after year, the mission of the Global Challenge is to provide teams with international playing experience and exposure. Past tournament participants have included club and country federation teams from Slovenia, Russia, Romania, Germany, Bosnia, Montenegro, China, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Japan, Iran, Sweden, Denmark, and Puerto Rico, plus USA regional HP, youth national, junior national, and collegiate national teams.
