SAN JOSE, Calif. – Ethan Ross tied his career high in strikeouts, and the Spartans offense exploded for 10 runs as San José State (6-7, 2-2 MW) knocked off Air Force (4-9, 0-1 MW) 10-2 in game one of the three-game Mountain West series on Friday night.
- Ross punched out nine Air Force batters while giving up no free passes in a season-high seven innings to earn the win on the mound.
- The nine strikeouts matched his career high from a season ago when he did it against San Francisco on March 7.
- Hunter Dorraugh had an efficient night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, a double, an RBI and a run scored.
- Dalton Bowling had a pair of doubles and brought in two runs to bring his total to 14.
- Theo Hardy also had a pair of hits with a double and two RBIs, bringing his season total to 14 to match Bowling and lead the team.
- Sebastina Orduno went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
- Jackson Forbes got on base four times with four walks and scored a run.
- It is the Spartans' third win in a row, their longest streak to date this season.
