Spartans Drop Game Two at No. 1 Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Matt Spear homered for the second-straight day, but San José State (12-21, 7-8 MW) fell 8-2 to close out the two-game series against No. 1 Arkansas (29-3, 11-1 SEC) on Wednesday afternoon.

  • Spear's homerun was his second in as many days and third of the season.
  • Theo Hardy reached base three times on Wednesday, going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a walk.
  • Hardy's double in the fourth inning was his seventh of the season.
  • Corey Sanchez pitched two innings of relief for the Spartans, striking out two Razorbacks.
  • Tyler Albanese got the start on the mound and pitched two innings with two strikeouts.
  • Spartan pitchers struck out a total of 15 Razorbacks in the two-game series.
