SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Zubair Firdaus and Keshav Mungali each fired a 68 (-2) to finish in a tie for fifth to lead San José State men's golf following the first round of the 77th Western Intercollegiate Presented by Titleist on Golf Channel from Pasatiempo Golf Club seen on the Golf Channel on Monday.
- SJSU finished the day in a tie for sixth out of 14 teams with a 358 (+8).
- Every player in the Spartan lineup finished with a birdie on 18.
- Xuan Luo fired a 69 (-1) to finish in a tie for 10th.
- Caleb Shetler shot a 71 (+1).
- Ivan Barahona recorded a 72 (+2).
- Carl Corpus and Kristopher Stiles finished the day at 78 (+8) to round out the Spartan lineup.
- Along with Mungali, on the individual side, Alaric Mercie De Soultrait shot a 70 (E).
- All tee times have been moved up 30 minutes on Tuesday.
- The Golf Channel will have live coverage each day from 4:00 p.m. (PT) to 7:00 p.m. (PT) with replay of round two at 8:00 p.m. (PT) to 11:00 p.m. (PT) tomorrow.
