FRESNO, Calif. – The San José State women's tennis team (13-6, 4-4 MW) is set to compete in its final regular-season match when they take on Fresno State (9-12, 3-4 MW) on Thursday afternoon.
- The Spartans are coming off a split in their final two home games last week, falling 4-3 to UNLV before knocking off Utah State 4-0 on Senior Day.
- Irena Muradyan was named the Mountain West Player of the Week on Wednesday for the second time this season.
- Muradyan went 3-1 on the week against Utah State and UNLV.
- She went 2-0 against UNLV with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles.
- Won in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3, at No. 2 singles to get the first point for the Spartans on the day.
- Against Utah State, Muradyan won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, 6-2 and 6-2, to give the Spartans the first point in singles play and the second point of the match.
- Muradyan and Cheuk Ying Shek have put together a strong season in the No. 1 doubles spot with a 12-4 overall record, 4-2 in conference.
- Duru Durgun and Rozalina Youseva remain unbeaten in doubles during conference play at 4-0 and are 10-1 overall.
- Jovana Babic holds the top record on the singles side at 3-2 in Mountain West play and 11-4 overall.
VS. FRESNO STATE
- The Bulldogs have won the last two matchups against the Spartans dating back to 2022.
- Fresno State has lost four of its last five matches coming into tomorrow's contest.
