SAN JOSE, Calif.—The San José State beach volleyball team returns to the courts on Wednesday, April 3, with a non-conference dual at Saint Mary’s. First serve is set for 3 p.m. at the Knudsen Courts on the Saint Mary’s campus.
- The Spartans are 9-10 on the season, while the Gaels enter the contest with a 12-11 overall record.
- This is the third meeting between the two teams this season.
- Saint Mary’s won 3-2 at the Battle of the Bay on March 1.
- The pairs of Jaida Ward/Jada Hall and Cheyenne Rice/Teila Allen won in straight sets that day.
- The Spartans won the second meeting, 3-2, at Spartan Beach as part of the Sand Jose Invitational.
- Ward and Hall won in straight sets to clinch the win for SJSU that day.
- Shirley Morrison and Anna Salmon got the first Spartan point with a 10-21, 22-20, 15-8 win.
- Siena Brewster and Meredith Scott won 23-21, 21-17 for the second win of the dual.
- The Spartans went 3-3 at the Southland Midseason Tournament.
