LAS VEGAS – The No. 8 seed San José State women's tennis team (13-7, 4-5 MW) is set to begin the postseason as they take on the No. 9 seed Boise State Broncos (8-12, 4-6 MW) in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
- The doubles pairing of Duru Durgun and Rozalina Youseva enter as winners of their last nine-straight doubles matches and a 12-1 record overall.
- The pair also went 6-0 together during conference play.
- Durgun has also had the hot hand in singles, winning her last five matchups and going 8-1 in the No. 6 spot this season.
- Irena Muradyan and Cheuk Ying Shek are 13-5 overall in doubles and have won seven of their last 10 matches in the No. 1 spot.
- The Spartans took the doubles point in the regular-season matchup against Boise State with both duos of Durgun/Youseva and Muradya/Ying Shek winning their matches 6-3 and 6-1, respectively.
- Ying Shek also won her singles match in the No. 3 spot against the Broncos 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
BOISE STATE:
- The Broncos won the regular-season matchup vs. the Spartans 4-2 on March 15.
- Boise State enters the tournament as losers of three of their last four matches.
- The Broncos own the all-time series record 8-4, but the Spartans have won three of the last five matchups, dating back to 2018.
