COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Cheuk Ying Shek was named Mountain West Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year and was also named All-Mountain West Doubles with Irena Muradyan, announced by the conference Tuesday night. The conference also announced that Muradyan and Carolina Millan were named to the All-Mountain West Singles team.
For the Spartans, Ying Shek is their first Mountain West Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year since Muradyan was named in 2021.

- Mountain West Freshman of the Week (1/31/24, 2/21/24, 3/20/24)
- Went on a four match win streak in singles (2/25-3/15/24)
- Has an overall doubles score of 15-6, tied for the second highest amount of wins on the team in 2023-24
- Went 11-11 in both single and dual matches in 2023-24
Irena Muradyan, Sr., Yerevan, Armenia
- Mountain West Player of the Week (3/13/24, 4/16/24)
- This is her second All-Mountain West singles Honor (2021) and first All-Mountain West Doubles honor
- 13-10 overall singles record, 10-7 in dual matches in 2023-24
- Her 13 single wins were tied for most on team in 2023-24
- Won the highest amount of doubles matches this season with 16
Carolina Millan, Sr., Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico
- Mountain West Player of the Week (1/31/24)
- This is her fourth All-Mountain West Singles (2021, 22, 23)
- 11-9 overall singles record, 7-7 in dual matches in 2023-24
- Won six singles matches in a row (9/29/23 - 2/25/24) and had a four match doubles win streak (9/29/23 - 1/25/24)
