Spartans Host UNLV for Final Home Stand and Senior Day

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State softball (14-25, 3-12 Mountain West) will be back home for their final home games of the season against UNLV (27-15, 10-6 MW) in a Mountain West three-game weekend series starting with the first game on Friday, April 26. First pitch is slated for 6:00 p.m. PDT from Spartan Softball Stadium. All three games can be seen on the Mountain West Network. Sunday’s Senior Day game will also be broadcast on NBC Sports California Plus. 

SCHEDULE (Spartan Softball Stadium)

  • Friday at 6:00 p.m. PDT vs. UNLV
  • Saturday at 3:00 p.m. PDT vs. UNLV
  • Sunday at 12:00 p.m. PDT vs. UNLV 

NEWS AND NOTES

  • The game on Sunday will be Senior Day with a ceremony honoring both schools seniors before first pitch. 
  • Sunday’s game will be broadcast on NBC Sports California Plus.  
  • Spartans are coming off of a 1-2 week against Saint Mary’s and Colorado State. 
  • The Spartans had a midweek come from behind 5-4 win against Saint Mary’s.   
  • Reina Zermeno went 1-for-2 with a single on Sunday in game one against Colorado State. 
  • Zermeno is the current leader in the clubhouse in batting average, home runs, RBIs, and slugging. 
  • Mia Reynolds made two starts last week, she leads the clubhouse with 19 starts and 85.1 IP this season. 
  • Korie Thomas is hitting .600 over her last three games going 3-for-5 against Saint Mary’s and Colorado State.
  • Ahmiya Noriega had three RBIs this past Wednesday against Saint Mary’s setting a new single-game season high for the sophomore. 
  • The Spartans took the season series over the Rebels in 2023, winning two out of the three games outscoring UNLV 17-8.  

NEXT GAME: The Spartans will end their regular season on the road against Utah State starting with the first game on Thursday, May 2. First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m. PDT from LaRee & LeGrand Johnson Field in Logan, Utah.
