SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Ethan Ross pitched six shutout innings as San José State (12-19, 7-8 MW) knocked off San Diego State (9-21, 4-11 MW) 7-4 to earn the series sweep and win their fourth-straight game on Sunday afternoon.
- Ross struck out a pair and only allowed four hits in the win.
- Jackson Forbes continued his stellar weekend, driving in two more runs in a 1-for-3 day at the plate.
- Dalton Bowling also drove in two runs and secured the Spartans' only extra-base hit with his 15th double of the season.
- Theo Hardy showed strong plate discipline, drawing two walks and a hit by pitch. He scored a team-high three runs in the win.
- Jesse Gutierrez pitched one inning in relief of Ross, striking out two batters.
- Cade Van Allen also had a strikeout in the ninth inning to close out the game.
- Robert Hamchuk drove in a run and had a team-high two hits.
- The Spartans closed out the series outscoring the Aztecs 41-10.
- SJSU has now won a season-high four-straight games, all in Santa Clara, outscoring their opponents 52-18.
