Men's Golf Heads to NCAA Regionals in Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - The San José State men’s golf team will compete in the NCAA Regional from May 13-15, at The University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas.

  • Round one tee times for the Spartans will begin at 6:55 a.m. (PT)
  • The Spartans were last in action at the Mountain West Championship where they placed fourth out of 11 teams.
  • Caleb Shelter, Xuan Luo and Zubair Firdaus each tied for 13th individually at the Mountain West Championship.
  • Ivan Barahona led the team in scoring average at 71.08 in 26 rounds played.
  • The field includes Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, UNCG, BYU, Utah, Grand Canyon, Arkansas State, and Kansas City.
  • The University of Texas Golf Club will be a par 71 at 7,399 yards.
  • The lineup for the Spartans will include Firdaus, Carl Corpus, Shetler, Luo, and Barahona.
  • The top-five teams and low individual not on those teams will advance to the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships, May 24-29, at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
