EUGENE, Ore. – Emilia Sjostrand solidified her status as an NCAA Second Team All-American in the Women’s Long Jump for San José State Track & Field after the women’s competition kicked off on day two at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Oregon on Thursday from Hayward Field.
Sjostrand, competing in the first flight, had the best mark of her three attempts on her first jump, but after the first round attempts finished, she fell just short of a ninth place to advance to the final round. However her jump and 10th place finish did solidify her status as an NCAA Second Team All-American in the Long Jump. She is competing in two events at this NCAA Outdoor Championship so her weekend is not done yet as she will compete in the Women’s Triple Jump on Saturday.
- Sjostrand in the Women’s Long Jump finished in 10th place just missing the cut for the final round with a mark of 6.29m (20-7¾).

- At last year’s outdoor championships in Austin, Sjostrand finished in seventh place, earning First Team All-American in the Women’s Long Jump.
- On Friday, the Spartans will compete in two events on the men’s side, the Men’s 4x100 Relay and Men’s 110m Hurdles.
