SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San José State's Senior Deputy Athletics Director Scott MacDonald has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee. His four-year term will begin on Sept. 1, 2024. MacDonald oversees all of the external operations for the Spartans and has served as the sports administrator for women's golf over the last three years.
"I am honored to represent San José State and the Mountain West on the NCAA women's golf committee," said MacDonald. "It is a time of great change within intercollegiate athletics, so I believe there is no better time than now to serve on committees and to assist in growing the sport of women's golf."
As a member of the NCAA committee, MacDonald will aid with selecting and seeding teams for the NCAA Women's Golf Championship and continue to advance the sport in collegiate athletics. This will be the first NCAA committee MacDonald will serve on but previously worked on conference committees for golf championships in several different conferences.
MacDonald is heading into his fourth year at San José State, leading the revenue generation team to unprecedented success. SJSU scored a program-best 256 points in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings and ranked second in the Mountain West, ahead of rivals Fresno State and San Diego State.
