SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State's Angel Iniguez was voted the 2024 WAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by the conference’s head coaches in the WAC Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, released by the conference on Friday. Iniguez was also named in the Preseason All-WAC Team.
Iniguez was a first-team all-conference midfield selection in 2023 after scoring seven goals and adding six assists over 17 matches to tie for fourth in the WAC with 20 points as a sophomore. Iniguez tallied three goals and an assist across eight conference matches last season, which included a two-goal performance in the final game of the regular season on Oct. 26.
Iniguez was previously named to the United Soccer Coaches' NCAA Division I Men’s Players to Watch list for the 2024 season.
In the preseason coaches poll, the Spartans were voted to place fourth in the conference out of ten teams.

- Led the Spartans with 20 points, seven goals and six assists
- Named to the All-WAC First Team
- Tallied nine goals and 11 assists in his two years at SJSU
- Averaged one goal every two matches in non-conference play last season (four goals in eight matches)
- Produced a career-high four points with one goal and two assists in a 4-1 win over Sacramento State (9/22/23)
- Registered at least one point in the first three games of the year with an assist against CSU Bakersfield(8/24/23), a goal and an assist against UC San Diego (8/26/23) and a goal against San Francisco (8/31/23)
- Named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week (Week of 8/29/23)
