One sport is already underway while another sport kicks off its season as the 2024-25 school year gets started this week. Women’s soccer continues with the second week of their season at home with two matches, while men’s soccer opens their regular season on Thursday at No. 5 Stanford and opens the home portion of their schedule on Sunday the 25th.

Women’s Soccer
Record: 0-1-1, 0-0 MW
This Week: The Spartans will host two matches at Spartan Soccer Complex. Thursday, Aug. 22 against UC Davis at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 25 against Northeastern at 12:00 p.m.
Last Week: SJSU opened the season hosting two matches. The Spartans dropped their season opener on Thursday, Aug. 15 against No. 22 Santa Clara, 4-0, and battled for a 0-0 draw with Saint, Mary’s on Sunday Aug. 18.
Spartan Fact: Junior Bente Pernot moved herself up on two different SJSU Women’s Soccer All-Time stat lists over the past weekend. Earning her 11th career shutout on Sunday, Pernot has now moved into a tie for third place on the SJSU All-Time career shutout list with Amee Brown (1996-99). With two saves in the shutout on Sunday, Pernot also moved into sole possession of seventh place on the SJSU All-Time career saves list with 170.

Spartan Fact: Last week, Angel Iniguez was voted the 2024 WAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by the conference’s head coaches in the WAC Men’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll.
