SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Cameron Cook scored off a beautifully placed ball by Gilberto Rivera and Edgar Guerra tallied a season high eight saves to lead the San José State (1-3-2, 0-0-0 WAC) men's soccer team in a 2-1 loss against Santa Clara (3-2-1, 0-0-0 WCC) in game where SJSU was down to either 10 or nine men across nearly the whole game on Sunday night at Stevens Stadium.
- In the fourth minute of play and down to ten men, Rivera placed a great ball into the box for Cook which he placed into the back of the net off the bounce.
- For Cook, it was his first goal of his career.
- Rivera earned his second assist of the season and has now scored or assisted a goal in two straight games.
- Angel Iniguez tallied a shot on goal in the game.
- Guerra recorded a season high eight saves in the game.
- Jarette Barajas and Diego Nieves each made their season debuts in the game.
