COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State's Nick Nash was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Nash set the San José State record for receptions in a regular-season game with 17. He added three touchdown receptions to lead the Spartans to a 31-10 victory over Kennesaw State on Saturday night to go to 3-0 on the season.
Nash leads the country in touchdown receptions (6), receiving yards (485), receiving yards per game (161.7), receptions (34), and receptions per game (11.3) and is the first player since Nevada's Romeo Doubs against Fresno State (10/23/21) to have 17 or more catches in a single game. Doubs had 19.
This is the second week in a row a Spartans player earned MW Player of the Week honors (link) and the first time since 2022 they've had that happen. This is also Nash's second MW Player of the Week honor after earning it following the Spartans' week zero game against USC last season.
