SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Jamie Steingraf led the team with five goals, including the game-winning goal in triple overtime with just a second left on the clock, to lead the No. 9 San José State men’s water polo team (4-1, 1-0 WCC) past No. 18 Santa Clara (4-2, 0-1 WCC) 11-10 on the road in the first conference match of the season.
- Steingraf’s five goals scored in the game were the most goals scored by a Spartan player this season.
- Steingraf’s goal with just one second left in triple overtime secured the win for SJSU.
- Down two goals with under two minutes, Steingraf would also score back-to-back goals for the Spartans, sending the game into overtime.
- The Spartans have now won four games in a row, two of which were against ranked opponents.
- Mateja Bosić recorded two goals and three assists in the game, tying Steingraf with five total points.
- Mitchell Keightley also impressed, recording one goal and three assists in the match.
- Giancarlo Marquez, Samu Biros and Louis Fehrensen all scored one goal in the match.
- Erik Duesund notched two assists and Connor MacMillan tallied one assist in the match.
