COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—After leading the Spartans to win the Hawkeye Invite over the weekend, San José State volleyball player Nayeli Ti’a has been named the Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
- Earned tournament MVP honors as SJSU went 3-0 with wins over Iowa (3-1), Delaware (3-0) and California Baptist (3-0)
- Averaged 5.9 kills, 4.10 digs and 6.55 points while hitting .287 for the weekend
- Recorded a double-double in kills and digs in every match
- Started the weekend with 18 kills and 11 digs in the four-set win over Iowa
- Led the team with 18 kills and 14 digs in the sweep of Delaware
- Closed out the weekend with season-bests of 23 kills and 16 digs in the win over California Baptist
- Helped the Spartans start 2024 with a 5-0 overall record, the best start since 1995
