Phillips Leads in Spartans Loss Against UNLV

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Taylor Phillips took seven shots to set a new single-game season high to lead San José State women's soccer (0-10-4, 0-4-2 MW) in a 1-0 loss against UNLV (6-6-2, 4-1-1 MW) on Sunday afternoon from Spartan Soccer Complex. 

  • The Spartans outshot the Rebels in this match, 11-8. 
  • Phillips had seven shots with two on goal, setting a new single-game season high for the senior. 
  • Phillips leads the team in shots and shots on goal with 33 and 14, respectively.
  • Karissa Ruble had two shots in this match, tying her single-game season high. 
  • Bella Flocchini and Karina Barkmeyer each took one shot in this game, with Flocchini’s shot being on target.  
  • Barkmeyer’s shot is her first of the season after returning from injury. 
  • Shayla Sugai had three saves on the day in goal. 
  • Sugai now has 48 saves on the season.
  • Tatiana Cunningham, Evan House, Kyah Coady, Isabella Shallou-Enes and Sugai played the full 90 minutes in this match.
