SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Kayla Fortenberry scored her first goal of the season to lead San José State women's soccer (0-11-4, 0-5-2 MW) in a 2-1 loss against San Diego State (5-7-3, 3-2-2 MW) on Thursday night from SDSU Sports Deck in San Diego, Calif.

  • Fortenberry entered the game in the 73rd minute and would make a late-game impact when she scored an unassisted goal in the final minute of this match.
  • Fortenberry’s goal is her first of the season and second of her career for the senior.  
  • Fortenberry’s goal is her first since she scored in her freshman season against Air Force in 2021.   
  • Bella Flocchini took four shots with one on goal, setting a new single-game season high for the senior. 
  • Flocchini is currently second on the team with 28 shots on the season.
  • Tiana Cello, Tatiana Cunningham, and Taylor Phillips each took one shot in this game, with Cunningham and Cello’s shots being on target.  
  • Shayla Sugai had six saves on the day in goal. 
  • Kyah Coady, Tasia Kravitz, Cello, Cunningham, Flocchini, and Sugai played the full 90 minutes in this match.
