SAN JOSE, Calif. - Erik Duesund recorded six points to lead the No. 12 San José State men’s water polo team (11-4, 1-1 WCC) past Pomona Pitzer (11-9, 5-1 SCIAC) 13-11 at the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center for the second day of the Julian Fraser Memorial.
- Duesund’s six points, consisting of three goals and three assists, were a season high and tied for the most recorded in a single game on the team.
- Mateja Bosić followed up his five point performance yesterday with another five points today, recording three goals and two assists.
- Louis Fehrensen also recorded three goals in the match as well as an assist to give him four points for the game.
- Samu Biros scored two goals and tallied an assist.
- Maro Tiozzo scored a goal and recorded an assist.
- Mitchell Keightley, Giancarlo Marquez, Jamie Steingraf and Bence Szabo each recorded a point in the match.
- In net, Brendon Gyapjas recorded seven saves, playing only the second half. Alexey Poletaev saved two shots in the first half.
