SAN JOSE, Calif. – Cheuk Ying Shek, Nahjime Dho, Emma Fantousis, and Soledad Fayos Capilla each won their singles and doubles matches, marking a strong finish for San José State at the 2024 SJSU Hidden Duals.
- To conclude the tournament, the Spartans went up against UC Davis in singles and the University of the Pacific in doubles
- SJSU achieved yet another clean sweep in their doubles matches to wrap up the tournament
- Ying Shek dominated in her singles match against Mika Ikemori winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2
- Dho defeated her opponent Daisy Maunupau in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0
- Fantousis secured a win against Polina Marakhtanova 5-7, 6-4, 6-4
- Fayos Capilla won in straight sets against Kaia Wolfe, 6-4, 6-0
- Ying Shek and doubles partner Fantousis overcame Megan Carmichael and Milena Maiorova 6-3
- Carla Urchoeguia and Dho defeated Indiya McLeod and Nahreen Cheam 6-3
- Duru Durgun and Fayos Capilla took down their opponents Katarina Brajovic and Alexis Sam, 6-2
- Urchoeguia was bested by Maya Youssef 1-6, 3-6
- Durgun came up short in a close contest against Solia Valentine, 6-3, 5-7, 1-6
