LAS VEGAS – Cheuk Ying Shek and Carla Urchoeguia led San José State to advance to the semifinals in doubles on day two of the Mountain West Fall Qualifier.
- Ying Shek and Urchoeguia dominated in their doubles match 8-5, against Matilde Magrini and Charlotte Gisclon from Fresno State, leading them to the semifinals
- Ying Shek was bested in the quarterfinals by Amahee Charrier from Nevada 6-4, 4-6, 2-6
- Duru Durgun won in her singles consolation match against Ana Sabikova from Utah State, 6-0, 6-3
- Urchoeguia came up short in her singles consolation match against Sofia Mavor from Air Force, 3-6, 3-6
UP NEXT: Tomorrow, Ying Shek and Urchoeguia will head to the semifinals, where they will go up against Maya Dutton and Zdena Safarova from Boise State, playing best two out of three sets.
