KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii—Three Spartans sit in the top-15, led by Lucia Lopez Ortega who is tied for fourth, as the San José State women’s golf team remains in third place after the second round of the Nanea Invitational at the par-73 Nanea Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
- Lopez Ortega shot a 1-under 72 and is now 7-under for the tournament and in a three-way tie for fourth, one shot behind three players tied for first at 8-under.
- Lopez Ortega is tied for fourth with Megha Ganne of Stanford and Lauren Kim from Texas.
- She made three birdies and 13 pars during the round.
- Nicola Kaminski shot even-par 73 and is tied for 11th at 3-under par. She made four birdies during the round and was 2-under par over her final eight holes.
- Moa Andersson moved up 11 spots after shooting a 3-under 70 and is now tied for 15th at 2-under 144. She made four birdies during the round.
- Rebecca Gyllner moved up 15 spots after shooting an even-par 73 and is tied for 30th at 4-over 150.
- Tessa Kremser is tied for 48th at 9-over 155, as she shot an 80 on Tuesday.
- The Spartans are tied for third with Arizona State at 10-under 574, and shot a 288 in the second round. The team is eight shots behind the leader, Stanford, and five behind Texas.
- SJSU is tied for first in par-5 scoring at -15, and second in par-3 scoring at +1.
UP NEXT – Final round action begins Wednesday with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
