Flocchini Scores on Senior Night as Spartans Fall to Fresno State

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Bella Flocchini scored her fourth goal of the season in her final game as a Spartan to lead San José State women's soccer (1-13-5, 1-7-3 MW) in a 2-1 loss against Fresno State (6-9-3, 2-7-2 MW) on Senior Night on Thursday evening from Spartan Soccer Complex.

  • Flocchini, in the 41st minute, headed a free kick cross by Kyah Coady into the top corner of the net to give the Spartans an early lead in this match.
  • Flocchini’s goal is her fourth of the season and 13th of her career. 
  • Flocchini has now led the team in goals for the past two consecutive seasons.
  • Flocchini’s 122 shots over her career at SJSU ranks 11th all-time in Spartan women’s soccer history for career shots.    
  • Coady’s assist to Flocchini on the free kick was her first of the season and the first assist of her career. 
  • Coady’s one assist is also a single-game season high for her. 
  • Taylor Phillips led the team with four shots in this game, all being on target. 
  • Phillips’ 128 shots over her SJSU career ranks ninth on the all-time career shots list for the women’s soccer program. 
  • Tiana Cello took two shots in this game, with both of her shots being on target. 
  • Cello’s two shots and two shots on goal both set a single-game season high for the senior. 
  • Tatiana Cunningham, Karissa Ruble, Evan House, and Tasia Kravitz each took one shot in this game, with Ruble’s shot being on target.
  • Shayla Sugai had six saves on the day in goal.
  • Kravitz, Cunningham, Flocchini, Cello, Coady, and Sugai all played the full 90 minutes in this match.
