Spartans to Compete in Three Games at the Ball Dawgs Classic

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State men’s basketball will play three games in three days this week as a part of the Ball Dawgs Classic in Henderson, Nevada. SJSU will play UTEP on Monday at 5:30 p.m., UNCG on Tuesday at 8 p.m. and Long Beach State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. All three games will be streamed on FloSports and can be heard on KTRB 860 AM.

2024 SCHEDULE

  • San José State has not played UTEP since 2005 and Long Beach State since 2006.
  • The Spartans’ game against UNCG will be the first time the two schools will face off in team history.
  • The Spartans are averaging the fewest turnovers per game in the Mountain West (7.83).
  • SJSU is second in the Mountain West in free throw percentage (.792) and has shot more free throws than its opponent in five out of six games this season.
  • The Spartans last played at USC in a 82-68 loss last Wednesday.
  • ​​Josh Uduje currently leads the Spartans in points (15.7) per game. Uduje went 5-5 from three and scored a season high 25 points in the Spartan's last game against USC.
  • Uduje has scored 47 points and has hit seven threes over his last two games.
  • Will McClendon scored 18 points on seven made field goals with four made threes and also dished out four assists against USC, setting career-highs in all four categories.
  • Robert Vaihola has recorded nine rebounds in his last two games and dished out a career-high five assists against USC.
