HENDERSON, Nev. - Donavan Yap scored 14 points and knocked down two three pointers to lead the San José State (3-5, 0-0 MW) men's basketball team in a 69-64 victory over UNCG (3-3, 0-0 SoCon) at Lee’s Family Forum in the second game of the Ball Dawgs Classic.
- In addition to his 14 points, Yap tallied five rebounds, three assists and two steals in the game.
- Will McClendon scored 11 points in the game. He has now scored double figures in his last four games and six out of eight games on the season.
- McClendon also grabbed four boards and dished out a career-high five assists in the game.
- Sadraque NgaNga scored 12 points in just 16 minutes of action off the bench.
- Sadaidriene Hall recorded nine points in the game with seven of them coming from the foul line in his second consecutive start.
- Robert Vaihola notched eight points, a block, a steal and two assists. He also grabbed four rebounds, three of which were offensive.
- All eight Spartans who saw the court scored and grabbed at least two rebounds.
- The Spartans held UNCG to just 43.1 percent shooting from the field and 21.1 percent from three.
- The Spartans also outrebounded UNCG 35-30 and held them to just 20 points in the first half.
