CINCINNATI - Djessira Diawara scored 11 points to lead the San José State women’s basketball team in their 55-36 season-opening win at Xavier on Tuesday night from the Cintas Center.
- The Spartans would start off the game in the lead before Xavier would claim the lead, going up by five points going into halftime.
- Upon returning from halftime, the Spartan's offense got hot, outscoring the Musketeers 39-15 in the second half to secure their first win of the season.
- Diawara, in addition to her 11 points, would finish with four rebounds, one block, and one assist. She was 5-for-10 shooting from the field.
