NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Olaya Bances Iglesias and Cheuk Ying Shek won both their Doubles and Singles matches to lead San José State women’s tennis on the first day of the CSUN Invitational on Friday in the Spartans' final tournament of the fall.
- In their doubles matchups against Idaho, the Spartans won two out of the three matches.
- Cheuk Ying Shek and Carla Urchoeguia won 6-4, while Olaya Bances Iglesias and Nahjime Dho won 7-6.
- SJSU played three singles matches against Loyola Marymount and swept all three.
- Ying Shek won her singles match 6-3, 6-4
- Duru Durgun won 6-2, 1-6, 6-1
- Urchoeguia won her singles match 6-4, 7-5
- The Spartans also played four singles matches against Big Ten opponent Minnesota and won three out of the four.
- Soledad Fayos Capilla won 6-1, 6-4
- Bances Iglesias won her singles match 6-4, 6-4
- Emma Fantousis won 6-1, 5-7, 6-1
- Cristina Mateos Losada would win her singles matchup with CSUN 6-4, 1-1 default injury.
