Nash, Toia and Pollard Lead 11 Spartans with All-Mountain West Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San José State wide receiver Nick Nash, defensive tackle Soane Toia and linebacker Jordan Pollard lead 11 Spartans awarded 2024 All-Mountain West football honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

This is the fifth straight year with double-digit All-Mountain West selections for the Spartans and the most since 2021. The six first and second-team All-Mountain West selections are the most for the Spartans since 2020.

Nash, Toia, and Pollard were named All-Mountain West First Team, while wide receiver Justin Lockhart, and defensive backs DJ Harvey and Robert Rahimi were named All-Mountain West Second Team. Defensive Lineman Gafa Faga, linebacker Taniela Latu, safety Isiah Revis, offensive lineman Marist Talavou, and defensive lineman John Ward were named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention.

FIRST TEAM:

Nick Nash, WR, Redshirt Senior, Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge HS

  • AP Midseason First-Team All-America Team (2024)
  • Biletnikoff Award Finalist
  • Second All-Mountain West honor
  • Only fourth player to earn the college football receiving triple crown
  • Leads country with 104 receptions, 1,382 yards, 16 receiving touchdowns, 8.7 receptions per game, and 115.2 yards per game

  • Career-high nine tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss against No. 23 UNLV (11/22/24)
  • Had 2.5 tackles for loss with 1.5 sacks and five tackles vs. No. 13 Boise State (11/16/24)
  • Seven tackles including a sack, a tackle for loss, and two quarterback hurries at Oregon State (11/09/24)

Jordan Pollard, LB, Junior, Los Angeles, Calif./Faith Lutheran HS

  • Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week (09/09/24)
  • Has a career-high 110 tackles with 12 tackles for loss and two sacks
  • He also has one interception and a career-high three pass breakups
  • Pollard is third in the conference and 22nd in the nation in total tackles
  • Had a career-high 17 tackles at Air Force (9/7/24)

SECOND TEAM:

Justin Lockhart, WR, Redshirt Senior, Los Angeles, Calif./Serra HS/Nevada

  • Has a career-high 52 receptions for a career-high 973 yards and a career-high five touchdowns
  • His 18.71 yards per reception is tops in the Mountain West and 20th in the country
  • Career-high 10 catches for a career-high 172 yards and a touchdown vs. No. 13 Boise State (11/16/24)
  • Had four catches for 48 yards and a touchdown vs. Stanford (11/29/24)

DJ Harvey, DB, Redshirt Junior, Palmdale, Calif./Sierra Canyon HS/Virginia Tech

  • Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week (11/11/24)
  • Has a career-high 58 tackles with seven tackles for loss, four interceptions, and six pass breakups 
  • Harvey also has two touchdowns this year, including a pick-six and fumble return touchdown
  • Led team with eight tackles vs. No. 13 Boise State (11/16/24)

Robert "Rocket" Rahimi, S, Senior, Santa Ana, Calif./Cornerstone Christian HS/Liberty

  • Leads the Mountain West and is third in the country with five interceptions

  • The Spartans have only allowed seven sacks, which is seventh-best in the country
  • The passing offense is the best in the Mountain West and fifth in the country, averaging 325.3 yards per game

John Ward, DL, Redshirt Senior, Palmdale, Calif./Palmdale HS/UCLA/Utah State

  • Has a career-high 43 tackles with a career-high seven tackles for loss, a career-high three sacks, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble
  • Five tackles, including 0.5 tackles for loss and a sack against No. 23 UNLV (11/22/24)
