SAN JOSE, Calif. – Mia Reynolds and Lacie Ham were solid in each of their starts to lead San José State softball (12-18, 3-5 MW) in a 4-0 game one loss and a 7-3 game two extra innings loss in a doubleheader against Fresno State (24-11, 4-4 Mountain West) on Wednesday night from Spartan Softball Stadium.
In the second game, the Spartan bats came to life and led a comeback late in the game when RBI singles from Shay McDowell and Adrianna Noriega tied it up in the bottom of the sixth. However, the Bulldogs went back on top with four runs in the top of the eighth inning to regain a lead that they would not relinquish.
Game One vs. Fresno State
- Haley Reeve was 2-for-2 with two singles.
- Aneesa Almaguer went 1-for-3 with a double.
- Reynolds got the start in game one going 6 IP with three earned runs and three strikeouts.
Game Two vs. Fresno State
- Reina Zermeno went 3-for-4 with three singles and one run scored.
- McDowell went 1-for-4 with an RBI single
- Ad. Noriega was 1-for-3 with an RBI single
- Ashley Rico went 1-for-3 with a single.
- Korie Thomas was 1-for-3 with a single.
- Ham was the starter in game two going 6.2 IP with three earned runs and two strikeouts.
- Spartans went 3-for-6 at the plate with runners in scoring position.
