COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ivan Barahona shot a 69 (-3) in his first round and currently sits in second place to lead San José State men’s golf on the first day of competition at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational from Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Saturday.
- The Spartans shot 291(+3) as a team in the first round and currently sit in third place out of the 22 teams.
- Barahona shot a 69 (-3) with a bogeyless 33 (-3) on the front nine and five birdies on the day. Barahona is currently in second place after one round of play.
- Keshav Mungali had an eagle with three birdies to finish with a 73 (+1). Mungali currently sits in 18th place on the leaderboard after the first round.
- Zubair Firdaus shot a first-round 74 (+2) and currently sits in 26th on the leaderboard after day one.
- Avinash Iyer shot a 75 (+3) for his first round and is currently in 36th on the leaderboard.
- Jed Dy made his SJSU debut with a first-round score of 77 (+5).
- In the Individual event, Alaric Mercie shot a 69 (-3) and currently sits in third on the leaderboard, Marlon Jones shot a 74 (+2) and sits in 14th, Awesome Burnett shot a 76 (+4), Xuan Luo shot 77 (+5), and Andreas Diogenous shot 78 (+6).
