RENO, Nev. – Alyssa Bean, Emilia Sjostrand, and the rest of the women’s squad led San José State Track & Field on the second and final day of competition at the Silver and Blue Invitational hosted by Nevada on Saturday, Jan. 11, from Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
- Bean, making her season debut, took first place in both the Women’s 400m Dash with a time of 54.41 just off of her personal best.
- Bean also took first in her heat and third overall in the Women’s 200m Dash with a time of 23.82
- Sjostrand, competing in the Women’s Triple Jump, took first place with an NCAA Championship standard mark of 13.37 (43’ 10½”).
- Also competing in the Women’s Triple Jump, Camryn Clark finished in fourth with a personal best mark of 11.77 (38’ 7½”).
- Jodeci Weems, also in the Women’s Triple Jump, finished in fifth with a personal best of 11.74 (38’ 6¼”).
- Amanda Challburg competing in the Women’s 800m came in fifth with a time of 2:21.60.
- Savana Dutton competing in the Women’s 400m Dash finished in seventh with a personal best time of 58.91.
- For the men, Alexander Walker led the way with a first-place finish in the Men’s 800m with a personal best time of 1:55.52.
- Walker’s 1:55.52 time passes his former personal best by more than three seconds.
- Michael Chadwick also competing in the Men’s 800m took second with a time of 1:56.52.
- In Men’s High jump, Deshawn Banks finished in third with a mark of 2.09m (6’ 10¼”).
- Christopher Coats took first place in the Men’s 400m Dash with a time of 48.28.
- Coats also ran in the Men’s 200m Dash and took third with a time of 21.36.
- Cameron Tarver also running in the Men’s 200m Dash finished in fourth with a time of 21.41.
- In the Women’s 4x400 Relay Alyssa Bean, Savana Dutton, Nakai Johnson, Sky Hagan, and Ma’Nia Tidwell took fourth place with a time of 3:53.15.
- In the Men’s 4x400 Relay the squad of Christopher Coats, Isaiah Gilmore, Noah Lawson, and Cooper Decillo finished fifth with a time of 3:20.98.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will return home to rest and recoup before heading to Lubbock, Tex. to compete in the Stan Scott Invitational & Multis hosted by Texas Tech on Jan. 31-Feb.1.
