Summers Leads Spartans in Loss Against Boise State

BOISE, Idaho - Sydni Summers tied her season-high scoring 17 points, Amiah Simmons contributed 12 points and Amira Brown registered her first double-double to lead San José State women’s basketball (8-11, 1-5 MW) in a 93-64 loss against Boise State (13-6, 3-3 MW) from ExtraMile Arena on Wednesday evening.

  • Summers finished with 17 points with two assists while going 5-for-15 from the field and 5-for-11 from behind the arc.
  • Summers set a new career high with her five three-point field goals and tied her season high in points scored.
  • Summers leads the team in three-pointers made with 58 and three-point field goal percentage at .353
  • Simmons contributed 12 points with four rebounds and four assists while going 5-for-14 from the field and 1-for-3 from behind the arc.
  • Simmons set a new season high with four assists
  • Brown tallied a double-double scoring 10 points to go with 11 rebounds, one assist, one block, and two steals while going 2-for-3 from behind the arc and 2-for-2 from from the free throw line.
  • Brown’s double-double is the first of her career.

  • SJSU now has five double-double performances so far this season. 
  • Djessira Diawara finished with 10 points, two rebounds, and one block while going 4-for-5 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
  • Simmons, Brown, and Diawara have now each scored double-digit points in three consecutive games.
  • The Spartans outshot the Broncos in two categories, from the three-point line (47%-42%) as well as the free-throw line (78.6%-70.8%)
  • This is the 12th game this season the Spartans have had more than three players score in double digits.
