SAN JOSE, Calif. - Amira Brown led with a season-high 15 points, Sydni Summers scored 14 points and Rylei Waugh added 10 points to lead San José State women’s basketball (7-8, 0-2 MW) in a New Year’s Day 90-70 loss against UNLV (10-4, 2-0 MW) from Provident Credit Union Event Center on Wednesday afternoon.
- Brown scored a season-high 15 points to go with one rebound, and two assists while going 4-for-5 from the field and 3-for-4 from behind the arc.
- Brown set a new career high in three-point field goals made with three in this game.
- Summers finished with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal while going 5-for-12 from the field and 4-for-9 from behind the arc.
- This is the fourth game this season Summers has had four or more assists.
- Waugh finished with 10 points to go with seven rebounds, and two assists while going 3-for-7 from the field and 1-for-1 from behind the arc.
- Waugh’s seven rebounds set a new career high for the sophomore transfer.
- Marisa Davis-Jones contributed nine points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field as well as seven rebounds and two assists.
- Davis-Jones set new season highs in rebounds and assists.
- Djessira Diawara added eight points of her own with 10 rebounds, three blocks, and two assists.
