RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Cristina Mateos Losada and Cheuk Ying Shek won both their singles and doubles matches to lead San José State (1-0, 0-0 MW) in a 5-2 win against UC Riverside (0-3, 0-0 Big West) to kick off the 2025 portion of the season.
- Ying Shek and doubles partner Carla Urchoegia dominated winning, 6-1
- Duru Durgun and Mateos Losada won 6-3 in their doubles match
- On court one Ying Shek won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2
- Freshmen Emma Fantousis secured a win on court five in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0
- Mateos Losada clinched her match on court six, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2
- Olaya Bances Iglesias won her contest, 6-3, 6-7, 11-9
- In a tight contest, Durgun was bested in her singles match, 7-6, 4-6, 8-10
- On court three, Urchoeguia came up just short as well, 6-7, 6-2, 8-10
