WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah—Katherine Weyhmiller won the beam as she tied her career best, and the San José State women’s gymnastics team put together its best meet of 2025 with a season-best 195.625 at the Wasatch Classic Monday afternoon.
- Weyhmiller recorded a 9.925 on beam, the highest score by a Spartan gymnast this season.
- She helped the beam team record a season-best 49.125 team score.
- Three other Spartans scored a 9.800 or better on beam – Devyn Valuch at 9.825, and Marissa Ashton and Sophia Konieczny at 9.800.
- The Spartans scored season-best team scored on every apparatus.
- The Spartans started the meet strong with a season-best 49.00 on floor, the first 49+ score for SJSU this year.
- Jaudai Lopes had a season-high 9.850 to lead SJSU, followed by Ava East and Valuch at 9.825, and Ava Johnson at 9.800.
- The vault team, led by Olivia Reardon’s 9.825, recorded a 48.825.
- Lopes and Weyhmiller each recorded a 9.800 on bars to lead the Spartans with a 48.675.
UP NEXT – The Spartans open the home portion of the 2025 schedule this Sunday, January 25, with the Spartan Quad as Boise State, Sacramento State and UC Davis join SJSU inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The meet begins at 2 p.m., and doors open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or at box office the day of the meet.
