GOLD CANYON, Ariz.—Moa Andersson recorded her first top-10 finish in her Spartan career Monday at the Match in the Desert as she led the San José State women’s golf team to a fifth-place finish.
- Andersson shot a 1-over 73 to tie for eighth place. She made four birdies during her round including the 9th and 18th holes.
- Lucia Lopez Ortega and Rebecca Gyllner tied for 11th at 2-over 74. Lopez Ortega made two birdies and 13 pars, including a stretch of six made pars over the final nine holes.
- Gyllner made her first eagle of the season on the par-5, 498-yard second hole, and followed that with a birdie on her next hole.
- Isabella Cioe made her Spartan debut by tying for 29th at 6-over 78. She made two birdies and nine pars, finishing her round with six consecutive pars made.
- Nicola Kaminski tied for 33rd with a 7-over 79.
- Tessa Kremser, playing as an individual, tied for 42nd at 11-over 83.
UP NEXT – The Spartans compete at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, February 2-4 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
