THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Zubair Firdaus shot a 69 (-2) to lead San José State on Tuesday's second day of the Southwestern Intercollegiate hosted by Pepperdine University from the Sherwood Country Club.
- Firdaus is tied for third place with a 139 (-3) after two rounds
- Firdaus had three birdies with just one bogey on the day while moving up seven spots
- Ivan Barahona shot a 77 (+6) and is +1 for the tournament with a 143 which is good for a tie in 16th place
- Keshav "KC" Mungali shot a 73 (+2) with two birdies and no bogeys on the back nine to go into a tie for 46th place with a 149 (+7) after two rounds
- Avinash Iyer is at 150 (+8) for the tournament after shooting a 76 (+5) on Tuesday
- Jed Dy shot a 77 (+6) on Tuesday
- The Spartans as a team are in eighth place after two rounds with a +13
- SJSU is ahead of No. 10 UCLA and No. 11 Arizona
