SAN JOSE, Calif.— Jennine Osorio led the Spartans with four goals, including the match-winner, as the No. 17 San José State women’s water polo team won, 10-9, over No. 23 San Diego State Sunday afternoon at the SRAC.
- Osorio scored once in the first quarter, twice in the third quarter, but her goal in the fourth quarter came with 2:10 left in the match to give SJSU the 10-8 lead.
- Four Spartans scored the 10 goals in the victory.
- Bridget Cranley scored three times, Darcy Spark twice and Nynke Willemsen once.
- Cranley got the scoring starting in the first quarter for SJSU to tie the match at 1-1. She also scored in the second and third quarters.
- Grace Smith had seven saves in the match, while Renee Fleming, Isabella Adams and Emma Ruzic each had a field block.
- Spark grabbed four steals, followed by Osorio with three, Rose Jensen with two and Fleming with one.
- The Aztecs led 3-2 after the first quarter and 5-4 at halftime.
- The Spartans scored four times in the third quarter to take an 8-7 lead, and both teams scored twice in the fourth for the 10-9 final.
- San José State improves to 6-6 on the season.
