Albuquerque, N.M. – Simone Johnson, Jodeci Weems, Tyson Bonilla, and Christopher Coats all set individual personal bests leading San José State Track & Field on the first day of competition at the Don Kirby Invitational hosted by New Mexico on Friday, Feb. 14, from Albuquerque Convention Center.
- Johnson, competing in the Women’s Long Jump finished in third place with a new personal lifetime best mark of 6.25m (20’ 6 ¼).
- Johnson surpassed her former personal best on all five of her attempts
- Weems, also competing in the Women’s Long Jump, finished with a personal best mark of 5.65m (18’ 6 ½)
- Bonilla in the Men’s Long Jump finished in ninth place with a mark of 7.25 ( 23’ 9 ½)
- Bonilla was just .01 meters off of his personal best
- Coats, running in the Men’s 200m Dash Invitational finished in third place with a personal lifetime best time of 20.87.
- Katharina Graman competing in the Women’s Long Jump finished in sixth place with a mark of 6.02m (19’ 9)
- Eve Divinity competing in the Women’s Long Jump finished in 13th place with a mark of 5.86m (19’ 2 3/4)
- Lina Schubert, competing in the Women’s High Jump, finished in fourth place with a mark of 1.72m (5’ 7 ¾).
- Deshawn Banks, competing in the Men’s High Jump, took fourth place with a mark of 2.08m (6’ 9 ¾)
- In the Men’s Unseeded 200 Dash, Aiden Simon finished with a personal best time of 22.22 seconds.
- Alyssa Bean, competing in the Women’s 200m Dash Invitational, finished in 12th with a time of 24.12
- Cameron Tarver, running in the Men’s 200m Dash Invitational, finished in seventh overall with a time of 21.41 seconds.
