SAN JOSE, Calif.—Darcy Spark led all Spartans with five goals as the No. 16 San José State women’s water polo team was victorious for the second consecutive day as SJSU defeated Santa Clara, 21-6, at the SRAC.

  • Spark had scored three or more goals in six matches this season.
  • San José State improves to 4-5 on the season.
  • Eight Spartans scored in the match, five players with two or more goals.
  • Renee Fleming scored four goals in the match, three coming in the fourth quarter.
  • Bridget Cranley also had four goals, scoring twice in the first period.
  • Jennine Osorio scored the match's first goal and finished the day with three goals.
  • Grace Smith started in goal, making eight saves and recording two assists in her two quarters of action.
  • Tatianna Raffin played the entire second half, making two saves for SJSU.
  • The Spartans held the Broncos to just one goal in the first quarter and zero goals in the second.

UP NEXT – San José State plays two matches at the Aggie Invite next Saturday, February 8, at UC Davis. The team faces California at 11 a.m., and UC Merced at 3 p.m. The Spartans return home next Sunday, February 9, to play San Diego State beginning at 1 p.m.
