SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State men’s soccer alumni, Beau Leroux, has signed with the San Jose Earthquakes first team. Leroux was selected by the Quakes with the 42nd overall pick of the second round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.

San José State men’s soccer head coach, Simon Tobin, said, “I am so happy for and proud of Beau. Unfortunately, he had a knee injury that kept him out of most of his junior year, when I think he would have been All-American material. However, Beau is one of the best players I have ever coached and can play many positions equally well. He loves playing the game and that is evident every time he takes the field.”

Leroux played for the Spartans from 2021-23, appearing in a total of 43 games. In the 2022 season, Leroux scored seven goals on the season, three of which were game winners, leading SJSU to the WAC Championship game. He was also named to the All-WAC First Team and United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team in 2022.

Last season, the attacking midfielder was a fixture on San Jose’s MLS NEXT Pro team, The Town FC, scoring five goals and making 24 appearances (23 starts) in the regular season and postseason combined.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for everything he has done for me,” said Leroux. “I’m beyond grateful to be able to sign and play for my hometown team. The city of San Jose has always meant everything to me and I’m committed to giving my best for this team and the organization.”
