SAN JOSE, Calif.– Soledad Fayos Capilla and Emma Fantousis both won their singles and doubles matches, leading San José State (6-1, 0-0 MW) in a 4-2 win against CSU Northridge (2-5, 0-0 Big West) on Saturday afternoon from the Spartan Tennis Complex to go to 6-1 on the season.
- Playing together for the first time, Fayos Capilla and Fantousis won their doubles match, 6-4
- Cheuk Ying Shek and doubles partner Carla Urchoeguia defeated their opponents in a tight contest, securing the doubles point, 6-4
- Fayos Capilla remains undefeated in singles as she quickly dominated her opponent, 6-1, 6-1
- Fantousis won in straight sets on court five, 6-3, 6-1
- Duru Durgun made an epic comeback in the third set of her singles match, ultimately earning the Spartans the final singles point, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4
- Ying Shek fell short in her singles match 6-1, 6-4
- Urchoeguia was bested by her opponent, 6-1, 6-4
