SAN JOSE, Calif. - Zach Chamizo hit the go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth to lead the San José State baseball team (6-1, 0-0 MW) in a 7-5 victory over Utah Valley (2-6, 0-0 WAC) at Excite Ballpark in the final game of the four game series.
- With the win, the Spartans swept the four game series over the Wolverines, marking the first four game sweep for the Spartans since they swept Nevada in May, 2009.
- The Spartans have now won six games in a row, their longest winning streak since 2011 when the team won their first six games of the season.
- Chamzio went 2-for-5 in the game and finished with four RBIs. His home run was his first of the season.
- Chamzio has a hit in all seven games this season.
- Jeriah Lewis and Jake McCoy each notched a run and an RBI.
- Jared Lewis tallied a run in his season debut. Drew Giannini and Raoul Fabian Jr. also both scored a run.
- JC Osorio-Agard recorded an RBI for his sixth of the season.
- On the mound, Win Scott posted seven strikeouts in five innings pitched in his second start of the season.
- Tyler Albanese received the win, striking out three batters and not allowing a hit or a run in two innings pitched.
- Albanese is now 2-0 on the season.
