LAS VEGAS - Amiah Simmons, Hennie Van Schaik, Djessira Diawara and Sydni Summers all scored in double figures to lead the No. 11 seed San José State women’s basketball (10-22, 3-16 MW) as they ended their season in a close back and forth 67-62 loss against No. 6 seed Fresno State (18-14, 9-10 MW) in the first round of the 2025 Mountain West Women’s Basketball Tournament from Thomas and Mack Center on Sunday night.
- Simmons finished with 16 points to go with 9 rebounds and four assists while going 6-for-20 from the field and 4-for-7 from three.
- Simmons’ nine rebounds set a new season-high and tied her season-high in assists with four.
- Simmons closed out her season and career by scoring in double figures in 15 out of her last 16 games.
- Van Schaik finished with 11 points to go with four rebounds and one assist while going 3-for-6 from the field and 2-for-5 from three.
- Van Schaik’s two field goals from three tied her season high.
